The first artworks I was exposed to as a child were the landscape paintings of John Constable, 1776-1837, and Joseph Mallord William Turner, 1775–1851. Both artists worked in the landscape and are known for their ability to portray weather conditions in revolutionary ways. The Tempest Series is aesthetically inspired by Turner’s painting Snow Storm from 1842 and the current global prevalence of extreme storms.
