Recodings are based on notable works of computer art from the 1960's and '70's. The original programming languages the works were written in no longer exist and they have been recreated using a contemporary language (in this case Processing).

Herbert W. Franke was born in 1927, Vienna. Franke studied physics, mathematics, chemistry, psychology and philosophy and received a doctorate in theoretical physics in 1950. From 1973 - 1997 he lectured in computer graphics and computer art at the University of Munich.

Vera Molnar was born in Budapest in 1924. Though a painter from the age of twelve, she started working with computers in 1968 and is now considered a pioneer of computer art.

Georg Nees was born in 1926, Germany and is considered one of the founders of computer art and graphics. He was one of the first people to exhibit this type of work (in Stuttgart, February 1965). Nees studied mathematics and physics and in 1969 was awarded a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Stuttgart. Employed by Siemens AG, he began work in the emerging field of computer graphics in 1964. Georg Nees died in Germany in 2016

Edward Zajec was born in Italy in 1938 and became one of the pioneers of computer art during the 1960s. More recently he served as a professor of computer graphics at the School of Art and Design at Syracuse University.
